Hello! My name is Alexey Burshtein, and I am a Realtime/Embedded programmer with over 20 years of experience. I am passionate about creating innovative digital solutions and always seek new challenges that help me grow professionally.
My Values:
- Quality: I believe that details create perfection. Every line of code matters.
- Maintainability: Every 3 lines of code deserve at least 1 line of up-to-date comments.
- Reliability: I deliver projects on time while adhering to all requirements.
- Continuous Development: Learning and side projects is my primary tool for professional growth.
What I Focus On
- Software Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining applications.
- Low-Level Programming: Exploring systems at the hardware level.
- Research: I am inspired by history, religion, and archaeology — these topics often spark fresh ideas.
Open-Source Contributions

I use the Haiku Operating System as my daily driver OS at home. It is lightning fast, full-featured, has some cool perks like fully journalized and indexed filesystem that supports custom attributes, and provides nostalgic UI of the second half of 1990s, which is good. It works well as daily driver, but its hardware support is limited, and if you need a program for an uncommon task, chances are that you need to port it yourself or even to develop it from scratch. Therefore I’m developing programs for Haiku, currently focusing on Esperanto support.
My Hobbies
When I’m not at the computer, you can find me writing short stories, (many of them get published in print), reading books on history and archaeology, discussing philosophical topics, playing the guitar or hiking.
